With an ideal climate for the production of Aloe Vera – semi-tropical with not excessively hot summers and temperate winters with temperatures superior to 20 degrees centigrade, we are privileged in having one of the best strain of plants in the whole world, strong, healthy with a highly concentrated juice (sap). The “Pita Sabila” is the common local name of our plant, the official name is ALOE BARBADENSIS MILLER – there is no animal nor insect that comes near to the plant for the simple reason that it is protected with a substance that is intolerable to the palate - ALOIN.

Our plantations are looked after with great care, dedication and pride. We do not use any chemical products not even in the growing and propagation of new plants (natural fertilisers only) nor in the production of the elaborated product, which is conserved with ascorbic acid (vitamin C as found in citric fruits).
The elaboration of the product is in the form of cold pressing and consists in extracting the gelatine from within the interior of the leaf separating the same from the aloin of the resulting juice as according to the American method as stipulated by the

After being taken from the field our Aloe leaves are hand-washed 7 times with sterile water where they are then topped, tailed and filleted to remove the gel.
The removed gel is then placed in one of three vats where it is compressed through filters and vitamins E and F are added. The Aloe Vera gel is then cooled further in a second vat and is finally left to stand in a third vat while cooled for 10 days and then bottled.

It has been confessed that plant extracs react badly to high temperatures and as a result most of the substances are lost such as enzymes. For this reason we develop the juice of the Aloe Vera by means of hand or 'hand filleting'. Thus preserving all temperature sensitive prperties of the Aloe Vera gel.

In short: the plant is grown with special care, the grubbing and specific construction of the Canaries Aloe Vera, ensures the conservation of those important substances and many ingredients in our Aloe Vera products.
